PolyGene’s murine LIF for embryonic stem cell research.

High quality, cost effective alternative
Leukemia inhibitory factor, or LIF, is an interleukin 6 class cytokine that affects cell growth by inhibiting differentiation, and is applied, amongst other uses, as a factor maintaining pluripotency in embryonic stem cells. PolyGene’s murine ESLIF has been produced using barley grain as a bioreactor, and is therefore animal-free and endotoxin-free. Unlike any other vendor, PolyGene validates and uses each batch of ESLIF for its germline quality.
The unique technology of barley-based expression enables PolyGene to offer high quality murine LIF at highly competitive prices (about 80% cheaper than the market leader), but with improved performance guarantees.
We hesitated a lot before changing from ESGRO. For us as a commercial provider of gene targeting services, this means a lot, because we not only risk an extended list of unfinished projects, but also our business!
Today we can say: For more than 6 years, we are using ESLIF successfully for all of our cell lines, and there is no difference to ESGRO whatsoever. All projects are running well and that’s one of the reasons why we can honestly recommend ESLIF. Stefan Selbert
