Actual Health Status
Since its inception in 2002, PolyGene has run a small mouse facility at its premises in Rümlang, with highest health standards and continuous efforts of improving enriched life conditions of animals. It was populated using spf mice from Harlan Netherlands and Charles River Germany; no other mouse has ever been introduced.
The hygiene status is regularly checked according to the recommendations of the FELASA consortium, using repeatedly remated foster females, thus allowing for maximal sensitivity with highest scrutiny. Since 2002, no relevant germ was ever detected.
